 Our
March 2012 Visiting Artist is Barb Switzer.
Barb
Switzer will be visiting Briolette Beads and our sister store
Caravan Beads the first weekend of November. Help us welcome
her! She will be sharing a fantastic set of wireworking designs
with us.
Barb
has been teaching wire classes since 1998, when she began
as an instructor at Fusion Beads. She has edited two books,
contributed to several bead magazines, and was editor of Simply
Beads magazine in 2008 and 2009. Barb travels all over the
US to teach in stores and at bead shows.

Jeweled Wave Cuff:
Wrap your wrist with a glittering,
undulating, glittering cuff. Learn perfect large curves, tune up
your round loops and master a gem wrap that works well for earrings
and other projects. Curve, wrap, repeat and get ready for compliments

Pendant
SORRY, THIS CLASS IS FULL.
Spiral heavy wire into an organic
nautilus shape that is inspired by nature. Embellish the finished
shape with an easy weave to add texture or add beads for additional
color. Fun for beginners and experienced wire workers!

Fiore Selvatico Necklace:

You'll create a silver flower
armature to entrap a crystal rivoli with a mix of chain maille,
weaving and low-tech tension setting. This charming, cold-worked
flower will flex your skills for creating large curved shapes, turning
perfect round loops and creating an innovative three-dimensional
bezel using only wire, shaping masterly and simple tools.

Sweet Suite of Earrings:
SORRY, THIS CLASS IS FULL!
Style yourself a group of dangly
earrings that feature great shapes, dynamic movement and splashy
color! The Sunspot, Boa, ChaCha and Edison Drop integrate wirework
with chain, jump rings and findings. Shape, wind, wrap and coil
with several different gauges of wire. making fine silver ear wires
and headpins will be discussed, along with finishing, polishing
and design variations.

Butterfly Hinge Bracelet:
Barb Switzer will take you to
a new level in wire working with this fun class! This bracelet takes
flight with a handmade hinge finding. Coil, weave and wrap butterfly
hinges, then scroll heavy wire for lacy "wings." Transform a few
basic findings, a splash of beads for color, wire and more wire
into a textured, scrolled and elegantly articulated bracelet.
